The positive reception from international customers and partners to DAESUNG's products at the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair (VIETLAO EXPO 2023) is evidence of the quality of domestically produced household products. In addition to the domestic market, DAESUNG can compete and meet the demands of the export market in general and the Southeast Asian region in particular.
The VIET LAO EXPO 2023 took place from July 27th to July 30th, 2023, at the Lao International Trade and Exhibition Center (Lao-Itecc) in Vientiane, the capital city of Laos. It is the largest annual trade promotion event jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Laos, with coordination from the Trade Promotion Departments of both countries and relevant agencies.
VIETLAO EXPO 2023 featured the participation of hundreds of businesses from both countries, showcasing their products in approximately 250 booths. The Vietnamese booths accounted for 120 standard booths in various sectors, including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, and food processing, garments and fashion, handicrafts and interior-exterior decorations, plastics and consumer goods, among others.
Participating in the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2023, DAESUNG showcased a range of household cutting tools used in daily life, such as kitchen scissors, gardening shears, sewing scissors, branch cutters, and more. The exhibited products by DAESUNG at the fair belonged to the ecosystem of cutting tools and household utensils, satisfying the criteria of diversity and ensuring credibility and quality for consumers.

The standout feature of the DAESUNG booth, attracting visitors and shoppers at this fair, is the user-friendly and practical nature of its products for everyday life. All DAESUNG scissors models meet the quality criteria, including the use of premium-grade steel imported from Japan, ensuring safety in human domestic use. The scissors designs prioritize convenience and comfort for consumers, and the range of scissors meets essential needs in daily life. For example, DAESUNG's popular poultry shears can replace complex poultry cutting tools used in the past.
This edition of the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2023 also provided an opportunity for DAESUNG to explore and study the Laos market. Through surveys and feedback from visitors to the DAESUNG booth, it was observed that Laos is a country that consumes imported goods and is considered an easy-going market. Due to the close relationship between the two countries, the people of Laos hold a favorable view of Vietnamese people and Vietnamese products. There is also a significant Vietnamese community living and working in Laos, making it convenient for market access, research, and market development. DAESUNG has many advantages in penetrating the Laos market.
Some outstanding household scissors from Daesung
Alongside the benefits, DAESUNG also recognizes that its branded products face competition from countries such as Thailand, China, with relatively low prices. This presents a challenge but also an opportunity for Daesung to demonstrate the quality of its product lines in this promising country.
DAESUNG's plan for 2024 sets a target of 45% revenue from exports, equivalent to about 100,000 products, or nearly 7 billion Vietnamese dong. One of the business strategies and solutions to achieve the set goals, as proposed by the DAESUNG Board of Directors, is to "continue to strengthen and promote retail channels within and outside the country, expand the brand and product quality, and provide customers with opportunities to experience quality products."
For the Laos market, the company aims to strengthen promotion efforts, with the goal of export revenue to Laos accounting for 20% of total export revenue in 2024. To achieve this target, DAESUNG plans to implement a dual strategy focusing on distribution channels and brand advertising campaigns to introduce Vietnamese quality products to the friendly Lao people.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Phan, the General Director of the company, affirmed that in the near future, DAESUNG will continue to carry out various export promotion activities, including actively participating in trade fairs and exhibitions, and engaging in trade cooperation to expand the brand's global coverage and achieve the set goals promptly.
